Letter with a sigh

A letter to a teacher from a mother in Bucharest, who is tired of seeing her child sitting at her desk and doing homework all day, has provoked the reaction of thousands of parents on social networks in recent weeks.

The number of likes, comments and distributions reached thousands in just a few hours, all having the same opinion.

The teacher gave the students homework to copy the lesson from the textbook. Violeta Nita, the mother of an 8th grade boy, sent a message to the teacher, asking him to reconsider his teaching.

Our parents have come to stop us from doing our homework! Even they got bored seeing us at the office, doing homework and learning.

All you have to do is look around and you will see parents accompanying their children to school, sad, anxious, bored and with dark circles in their eyes, some and some. Just as students are worried about the school curriculum, so are their parents, who are afraid that their children will not be able to perform at school and that they will fail.

And we, the students, know that without the sustained daily help of parents and meditators, we will not succeed.

The extremely dense school curriculum, the number of homework and homework steals even a little of our time with family. Parents come home from work tired after a day of work and become teachers, meditators for us.

Is it really that bad? The knowledge we accumulate at school should be a joy, but for us it becomes a torment, because everything becomes toxic, being forced to learn mechanically. Thus we end up forgetting everything when we went out the school gate, losing the start since the small classes, but also the chance to develop our thirst for knowledge.

I also recorded a parent’s opinion:„Although we, the parents, tend to jump in defense of our child at any time, at any time, this time I will not do it and I will not give justice to that lady. I would never make such a decision. And not because I wouldn’t move mountains for my child, but because a child needs to know that homework needs to be done, no matter what kind or how much.

Trying to spare your child to put in the slightest effort, to copy a few pages in a week, blaming a teacher for the school curriculum, established by the Ministry of Education, seems to me an inadmissible mistake.

After such mistakes, why do we still have expectations for teachers to fix our child who does not do his homework, does not learn and does not know where to start? ”
